I teach courses in the area of structural engineering. I teach through a hand-on approach which enables students develop problem solving skills through practice following my easy to follow worked examples. I encourage students to establish quantitative relationships between key parameters from an equation, rather than simply plugging numbers into the equation to get the answer. I make connections between the material in my courses and real-world problems, applications, and experiences.

In May 2008, my wife and I attended a retreat at Lake Yale Baptist Conference Center in Leesburg, Florida and were baptized on the same day (May 24).
